Among The Saints

Those Who Walked Close to Belief but Never Truly Belonged

Genuine faith in the middle of church life.

Among the Saints is a sobering exploration of people who appear to be within the faith community, yet remain spiritually distant from God. It is written for those who identify as Christian in name, attendance, or association, but whose lives raise deeper questions about true belief, transformation, and allegiance. Through biblical case studies and reflective teaching, the book asks a hard but necessary question: what does it really mean to belong to the saints?

The journey begins with figures such as Judas Iscariot, who walked closely with Jesus yet never surrendered his heart. It continues with the sons of Sceva, who attempted to use the name of Jesus without knowing Him, exposing the danger of spiritual imitation without relationship. The book also examines the religious leaders—the Pharisees and Sadducees—who were deeply familiar with Scripture yet missed its fulfilment when He stood before them. Their lives reveal how proximity to truth is not the same as possession of it.

From there, the book turns inward, reflecting on themes such as fruitlessness and the quiet danger of a life that appears religious but produces no lasting transformation. It explores the tension of "loving the world" while claiming loyalty to God, and how divided affection slowly replaces devotion. It also confronts the reality that "money is master" for many who profess faith, revealing how material desire can quietly dethrone God without obvious rebellion.

The narrative does not ignore complexity. It considers "those who believed but with faults"—people who genuinely encounter God yet struggle with inconsistency, weakness, and growth. This section draws a line between imperfect discipleship and empty profession, offering both warning and hope. Finally, the book ends with a searching question: How do you know you are truly among the saints? It invites readers into honest self-examination, calling them not merely to religious identity, but to authentic transformation marked by faith, repentance, and enduring fruit.
